Maslows Hierarchy of Needs
Maslows theory was actually developed whilst he was researching how actual monkeys behave. His results should that monkeys and all living creatures need basic things which will help them to survive. Not only does this relate to animals but it does also include us humans. Hierarchy suggested that humans needs are more complex than the needs of animals to make us unique from other species. However humans strive and want "self-actualisation", this causes them to be unique from others.
There are different levels of this and they are as follow:
- Physiological Needs
- Safety and Security Needs
- Esteem Needs
- Belonging Needs
In relation to my magazine, I want it to link in with this idea of these needs. I want the photographs of the models I choose to give people esteem needs, which will give them the confidence that they might need to let out more rather than shy away. Also I want them to feel loved by everyone and love everyone else as we all are very different but the same in one way or another. Friendship and love is a key topic in this magazine I am going to create.
